Dexcom G5 Mobile App Reviews

Great App with room to grow

This is a great app so far and I have found it works great for my use with iPhone. Im glad to see I can quickly glance on the Today screen instead of having to open the app every time. I also enjoy the Apple Health integration. I would like to see this area improve more. For those that enter Carbs, Insulin, Exercise, etc, I would like to see further sharing of this information with Apple Health. Still a great app in my review!

Can be better Bluetooth

love this dexcom it helps a lot but its also off of my blood sugar a lot and some times disconnects really easy so if you have a child who likes to play on their phone and has dexcom it will disconnect a lot

Terrible.

Literally all it does is ping my phone constantly to tell me that the connection "Is lost", despite my transmitter being less than 3" from my iPhone. Never shows a blood sugar ever.

Good not great

Would be nice if there were more analytics. Averages by day/time etc. Correlation between BG and insulin usage would be nice too. Theres some really valuable data that is loaded and it isnt hardly used for anything to put it to good use. Id even like to be able to just export all the data in a spreadsheet too and do analysis myself. The app is useful and reliable but leaves a lot to be desired.

One major improvement needed

To get more than two stars from me they need to add a timer that shows how much time remains before the initial two test calibration is needed (a two hour countdown) and the time the next calibration is required

Cant live without it!

This is the best app ever for a type 1. I feel so great knowing my blood sugars at all times, and the alarms keep me safe at night/driving/at work etc. The convenience of having it on the phone really helps!!!

COULD BE BETTER

Great update, however, theres a handful of things that could be improved. #1 The new complication feature for the Apple Watch is simply a shortcut to the app. This is useless! We want to see our glucose number here! The idea is that we can simply look at our watch face and see our number/trend arrow, without opening the app. #2 I would also like to see more functionality applied to the watch. For example, It would be great if we were able to enter meter calibrations as well as Carb and Insulin doses right from the wrist! You can make it so it uses the watches Digital Crown to make entering super quick & easy! #3 As for the iPhone, we would really like to be able to simply pinch & scroll through our day on the glucose graph. This would make it much easier to follow our daily glucose levels in greater detail. On that note, to help make viewing even easier, I would also like to see the option of having a continuous line on the graph, as opposed to just getting a bunch of dots. It would also be great if there was a dark mode that could enabled. This would be especially helpful at night, so we dont blind ourselves! I think you guys are on the right track. I hope to see these and other changes in the next update, as it will make for a more practical experience for us diabetics.

Signal loss + No Support for iPhone 6

The iPhone 7 is around the corner and your app still doesnt support the resolution of the iPhone 6? Come on guys. Im also getting a lot of no data readings on the app despite my receiver getting them just fine.

Transmitter issues yay

Installed a new transmitter less than a week ago, and today the app has decided not to recognize it. I snapped the picture of the box, and it started to act like it was going to recognize it/sync and then changed its mind and stopped recognizing it again. Going to use the actual Dexcom reader thingy to try and troubleshoot but I am really not happy right now.

Excellent (revised)

This app is now excellent. Many users have asked and begged for a native Apple Watch interface like the G4 had as well as a Notification Center widget. Both have been implemented and delivered to perfection. Thank you! Original review prior to update: "All I want for Christmas is a native Apple Watch app.

Needs support for higher resolution screens on iPhone 6/6s

I love the system, but the app really needs support for the higher resolution screens on the iPhone 6/6 plus and iPhone 6s/6s plus. Its been almost two years since the iPhone 6 was released and almost all apps have been updated for the bigger screens. Right now the app looks blown up, fuzzy and old. It could also use some more features like 3-D touch support. I can think of so many ways that would be useful for. Over all, the app looks very old and it really needs to be updated to take advantage of new useful features.

Great but constantly disconnects

Its great when its working but the app constantly disconnects from my sensor. The receiver is far less prone to disconnecting. Could you also add the ability to add a text note (much like I can annotate when I put on insulin). This can help me keep track of insulin site locations and their effectiveness. Notes for other activities that = sugar level. Food factors, sleep... Etc.

Need to format for iPhone 6

Seems to work good but its been 2 years since the release of the iPhone 6 and it still isnt formatted for that. Ridiculous.

Great Start - Need some Enhancements

I got the Apple Watch just for this option. I would like to see the current number with arrow indicator instead of an app symbol on the face....eliminate the need to open app to see current level/trend. Otherwise what a simply terrific app and makes my life easier dealing with hypoglycemic unawareness.

In the right direction

When this app was first released, it was very bare-bones. You could view blood sugars, but you had to use a workaround to get the items to appear on the Apple Watch. Now that the app has updated to offer Watch functionality, lets get that reading in the Complication! Its as easy to swipe up on the watch face to view the graph as it is to tap the Complication, so please put that functionality of the Complication to better use! It would also be great if the app could be used independently of the iPhone, as the watch is able to connect to WiFi directly, and be paired to Bluetooth items.

Not compatible with current iOS. Unstable.

App crashed during configuration. Ive been a DexCom user for 4 years and jumped at the chance to just use my cell phone and get the receiver out of my pocket. Extremely disappointed that the app is currently not working.

Game changing CGM

not much to add other than what lost have already said here. 23 year T1 diabetic and this has made my life so much easier! Suggested improvements for iOS app: •provide BG in notification alert •allow scrolling and viewing of trends within portrait view •allow more than 24hr trend view (48,72, 1 week?) •not sure if its Health/apple app issue but allow real time Health app view instead of 3 hour delay. Thank you your hard work here!

Dexcom is great but Im having problems

Usually good but Im getting tired of little problems like how when I dont go on the app for a while it stops recording data and now the app doesnt even work it crashes over and over so I tried to delete the app and reinstall it but now its saying I cant login because the servers are down.

Changes CGM Monitoring

This has been a great addition and the Apple Watch support works very well. This paired with the share app is a dream come true.

Imperfect but still BEST THING ON THE MARKET

Why so many haters? Maybe theyre omni users bummed about not having an omni app.
