Dexcom G5 Mobile App Reviews

Happy  Watch app, but complication is completely lacking

I am very happy to see Dexcom finally getting around to making an Apple Watch app for the G5. Its good to finally see the trends and the tracking. Well done. But this added Apple Watch complication is completely lacking in any functionality. Its a shortcut to the app and nothing more. Doesnt show you your level or trend. From what I can see its useless. I hope the next update fixes that and show you either your number or trend or both.

Does its job, could be better

The new quick view on the pull down is great. The rest of the app hasnt really made it into the 21st century. I suggest the app developers talk to their colleagues in stock markets to learn how to display data over a large time period to follow trends. Data display and handling is miserable.

My coworkers hate me because of my G5 alerts

Love the latest updates to this app for the Apple Watch. I cannot tell you how happy I am to now see it fully integrated (where I dont have to follow myself anymore). Im hoping the next update will allow me to see my blood glucose level directly on the face of the watch instead of an icon. Keep on pushing out those updates. Its nearly perfect!

Apple Watch support

Im glad youre listening to our requests. The new glance is very nice, though hopefully the complication can be updated in the future to show information.

So close.....

Come on Dexcom! A shortcut complication is useless. You can just swipe up for the glance. Put the actual BG on the screen!

So so close

This is a fantastic app and just needs a few tweaks to make it perfect. Love the Apple Watch update. I would love to be able to see the actual number as one of the modules on the actual clock (I think this is called complication). Right now we can see just the Dexcom symbol, which defeats the purpose of having it at all. You just save one step by not having to use the Digital Crown. Push notifications on the lock screen are fantastic, but we need to a way to acknowledge high/low blood glucose there. Otherwise you have to go into the app to acknowledge which gets very annoying (especially days you are sick and you glucose is always high). Still love using a phone as my receiver.

Please remove BG calibration notification

Every 5 min I am getting the "enter BG" notification on my phone and watch. Please allow us to toggle these as there are times when I am not right next to a meter and dont want constant reminders. Essentially, I want it to work as it used to w/ Share.

Works fine, but needs vibrate

My 9 year old son only uses his iphone for his reciever since his normal reciever broke. I like being able to see his levels throught the day while he is @ school. But it would be nice if he sets his phone on vibrate it would vibrate for any lows or highs.

Watch support huge, but two major misses

Support for the Apple Watch finally is amazing. This is what the community has been waiting for, however as others have said the complication is worthless. Just want to be able to see number and trending arrow on watch face. The other thing would be the watch communicating directly with the transmitter. As it stands now you always have to have your phone. While not a deal breaker, anything to lessen the burden and amount of things we have to carry would be huge.

Cant acknowledge lows

I love the watch update but Im having an issue where I cant acknowledge a low alert, when I open the app the little thing that normally pops up and you tap okay isnt there, so it just keeps going off until Im not low anymore. Not sure if its just me having this issue but its kind of annoying!

YES!! WIDGETS!!

Thanks, Dexcom, for listening to the reviews. This new version is everything I couldve hoped for!

Life changing

Great app, does its job wonderfully. This app plus the G5 have made a huge impact on my daily diabetes management. Love the new widget! Only wish is being able to pinch zoom in/out and pan the graph in the app when the phone is set to landscape mode, and be able to write in my own words what food I had when adding a Carbs event (in addition to the carbs value).

Great - only when it works

Love Dexcom G5 when it works. Unfortunately, if I use my Maps or sundry other apps, Dexcom doesnt record data and gives me the dreaded black circle. Tech Support is the worst to get in touch with. Ive called 4 separate times and waited 30 minutes...finally got tired of waiting and put my number for a call back. Never have I gotten call back. Guess Im going to break out the Dexcom receiver since this app is crapping out.

Please fix Bluetooth connection

App is good but Im having issues with the connection on my G5 like Im always losing the connection with my iPhone with the app saying signal loss within the app so I hope theres a fix with this in the near future

Issues

At first I liked the new update, not perfect but at least theyre doing something finally. However like after a few days the app keeps saying to replace my sensor even though I put it in 2 days ago. I tap warmup because thats all I can do, then it freezes. Have to restart my phone but even after that its not frozen anymore but Im having to wait 2 hours for the second time this week to use it. Not cool.

Finally installed...

After many tries finally got it to install on the watch(Took a watch reboot or 2)! Glad to have it without workaround, but agree with others that glucose reading and big arrow showing trend in complication would be a huge plus.

Very good attempt...so close to being great

As others have stated, the new additions to watch and widget are very nice additions and a very positive step forward. But the functionality is not all there and hopefully will change soon. Cons: Widget is entirely too big...to the point of asking yourself, "are they joking?". Its nearly the size of the full screen...can someone explain to these programmers the purpose of a WIDGET! The essence of a widget is a quick glance of many widgets, not just Dexcom. If I wanted to see only Dexcom I would open the app. So quit being a widget hog Dexcom! Secondly, the complication on the Apple Watch is worthless. Needs to actually show info. Thirdly, snoozing needs to function the way the share2 app did. When I see a high or low on the watch, opening the watch app should snooze the alert per my settings. Otherwise its just annoying to see it on your watch but cant do anything about it. With all that I still think its a great start and will be waiting for the next update. So please come quick!

GREAT APP - JUST ONE COMPLICATION...

It doesnt have a functioning complication!! Otherwise would be 5 stars. I hope Dex is working on improving the app to offer a fully functional complication.

Current Glucose on Complication

Amazing I truly love Dexcom. Thank you for making my life easier to manage. Please Add.. 1.) Glucose Current Value on Complication so its at a glance. If you have to remove the arrow for space do it. The number is what we need. 2.) Allow (ok) Acknowledgement of alerts thru watch app so I dont need to pull out my phone to (ok) a high or trending alert.

Pretty Good

I love how I can turn my phone and I can see my blood sugar at any time for a full 24 hours. I also love the today view widget so I dont have to unlock my phone to see my blood sugar. The only thing I dont like about it is that it had to be in your recent apps. It wastes more battery power if you cant close it. If they fix that, it would be perfect.
